September 7, 2026One of the more unusual regulatory matters we have dealt with recently involved a law firm facing a number of complaints which ran to hundreds of pages of AI generated complaints.
The allegations were serious and included fraud, issues around service levels and allegations that the firm had acted without proper authority.
A significant amount of the work involved going back through the underlying client files and understanding what had actually happened.
We also represented the firm at investigation interviews and worked closely with the regulator throughout the process.
The volume of material was substantial, and a key part of our role was separating the genuine issues from the volume of allegations and making sure the complainant and in turn the regulator had a clear picture of the position.
We are pleased to say that, following our involvement, the regulator took no further action against the firm. There was no right of appeal.
It was a good result for the client and a reminder of something we see regularly in regulatory work: when allegations are serious and the volume of material is significant, the detail really matters.
We were pleased to be able to support the firm through what was, understandably, a very stressful investigation.
