WYN Legal secures withdrawal of allergen claim following allegations at wedding

WYN Legal has successfully resisted further action against a national catering business following allegations concerning allergen labelling at a wedding, securing the swift withdrawal of the threatened claim.

The dispute arose after a consumer raised allegations relating to allergen information provided in connection with catering at a wedding. Given the potentially serious legal, regulatory and reputational implications of any allegation involving allergens, the catering business sought urgent legal advice from WYN Legal.

The WYN Legal team, led by Binal Shah and Pranav Bhanot and supported by Bhavdeep Kaur, moved quickly to establish exactly what had happened, review the available evidence and assess the allegations being advanced.

After initially guiding the client through its response, WYN Legal took control of communications with the potential claimant. The team robustly challenged the allegations and set out the client’s position on the evidence.

Following WYN Legal’s intervention, the potential claimant swiftly withdrew the claim and no further action was pursued.
